Many cancer patients find that they were in the middle or late stage when they were sick. the patients and their families are surround by fear,loss and physical pain which their quality of life is affected seriously. Therefore, it is very urgent and necessary to care cancer patients. Hospice care is a full range of care for the dying patients and their families, including the physical and psychological aspects and the hospice care is provided for patients with advanced cancer which is conducive to improve their quality of life. The author hopes that the better hospice care services for patients with advanced cancer is provided by using the professional knowledge of social work.In this paper, based on the combination of social support and the way of thinking in terminal psychological needs theory and bidirectional interaction perspective,the group work method is applied to the hospice care of patients with advanced cancer to achieve”peaceful death”.This research is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction which mainly describe and explain the research background, literature review, feasibility and necessity of the social work intervention in hospice care, and topics of significance and research ideas, in the part of the literature, the research status of hospice care is reviewed and comprehensive commented at home and abroad The second part explains the related concepts and the theoretical basis. The third part understands the status and needs of the service object and prepares for the group contrapuntally through interviews and other methods. The fourth part mainly introduces the whole process of group activities. The fifth part is to carry out evaluation on the beginning stage, middle stage, late stage, social workers self-assessment and the effectiveness of the activities. At last, through reviewing the whole process of practices, the group activities are reviewed and summarized.
