Influenced by the new curriculum reform, people pay more attention to the dynamic and generative teaching. It is a new teaching idea against the idea of traditional teaching which overemphasizes on the presupposition. In classroom teaching, teachers can achieve the teaching goal and students can acquire knowledge at the same time. Students who have different life backgrounds and cognitive styles will consider problems from different perspectives, so lots of teaching resources will be generated in class. Then in order to seize the sporadic resources and implement generative teaching, awareness of generative teaching should be developed.Many researchers have done case analysis and theoretical study about dynamic and generative teaching. However, in the practice of English teaching, influenced by exam-oriented education, the traditional teaching idea and teaching method, many teachers have a hazy idea of dynamic and generative teaching in class. So, it is rarely seen successful implementation of dynamic and generative teaching in class. Because teachers do not understand the generative teaching deeply enough, it is difficult to guarantee the value of the generative teaching method. Thus, it will influence the teaching effect.The research chooses the teachers and students from senior high schools of city level and county level in Ganzhou as the research subjects. The research targets on the present condition of dynamic and generative teaching in English classrooms of senior high school and its influencing factors by questionnaire, interview and class observation. The result of the research indicates that :(1) Most teachers have low awareness of generative teaching and the implementation of generative teaching need to be improved.(2) During the implementation, teachers do not apply the theory into practice. They have single and inappropriate evaluations on students’ behaviors and performance. They also sometimes cannot capture the resources in time.(3) Many factors influence the implementation of dynamic and generative teaching in class. The teaching environment is not relaxing. And teachers’ adapting skills need to be improved. Besides, the role of students should shift from passive participator to active one.Therefore, based on the analysis of the result, suggestions to improve the current conditions of dynamic and generative teaching in class are put forward, including suggestions for teachers, schools and students. So the research has a strong theoretical and practical significance.
