The comprehensive educational reforms which are in full swing at present make underlying problems in educational management become clearer and more obvious. As an indispensable part of educational management, student management has a vital influence on the healthy growth of student groups. However, paramilitary student management, which is rigidly institutionalized in its practice and extremely popular among all kinds of schools in our country, goes against the fundamental pursuit of socialistic morality education. Therefore, the article takes paramilitary student management as the target to criticize and reconstruct. In the first part, based on the personal pedagogical and managerial experience which was gathered at the time when the researcher worked as a teacher in a primary school years ago and the practical cases collected on the internet and academic magazines, this article makes a clear definition and detailed analysis of its implications and main performances and discloses its potential negative effects on school education. And in the second part, the article is designed to dig out its primary causes from multi-dimensional perspectives like state educational system, school development, traditional managerial culture and the current existing situation of teachers and students in the hope of looking for holes in the process of its humanized reformation. Finally, the article is devoted to discuss the feasible reformative pathways from such close-related levels as the guiding concept, rules and regulations and ways and styles of student management with the purpose of reconstructing it as the individual-oriented student management as well as promoting the diversified creativity of student management mode in the future practice.
