Recently, group activity has become an important activity in English class. It has attracted much attention of researchers and has been studied extensively. According to the observation of group activity in junior high school English class, this study describes the implementation process of the group activity in detail. It also summarizes the general process of group activity and implementation strategies. Moreover, it provides theoretical basis and scientific guidance for teaching practice.This study records the methods of classroom observational form, questionnaire and interview for recording and describing group activity. This study elaborates four fields, including the basic facts of the school, the general process of group activity, the implementation strategy of group activity and the implementation effect of group activity.The results of the study indicate that group activity is mainly carried out in grade 7 and 8 in junior high school. The general process of group activity is presentation of the goals-group discussion - performance of the results-assessment. The school generally arranges a group of 6 students with the length of 23 minutes to 45 minutes in general. Teachers play many roles in group activity as organizers, guiders, promoters, supervisors, observers and evaluators. To some extent, group activity in English class improves the classroom atmosphere, students’ learning interests and cultivates the habit of listening to the opinions of others.
