It is shown by studies that with people’s increasing pursuit of health, the demand for the graduates from the secondary vocational health schools will exceed the supply in quite a long time from now on. The secondary health vocational education has provided a large number of personnel at the grass-roots level and made a great contribution to China’s health service. In the secondary health vocational education, the teachers shoulder the burden of educating the students. The level of the education directly affects the training quality of the students and is closely related to the teachers themselves. In current secondary health vocational schools, there still exist a lot of problems in education. These problems have resulted from many causes, among which, the survival state of the teachers is an important aspect. Therefore, to solve the educational problems, the improvement of the teachers’ survival state is necessary. Accordingly, this research has taken all the school teachers in Yantai, Shandong as an example, demonstrated their real present survival status and analyzed the causes of the problems, which will have provided an effective help to improve the school teachers’ survival status. By employing the questionnaire survey and interviews, this research has made an investigation of the survival state of the secondary vocational school teachers and had got detailed real materials and data, which has faithfully presented the current survival state of these teachers. The research shows that the school teachers’ survival state is not optimistic with lots of deficiencies, mainly manifested in the following aspects: their relatively low material living standards, more mental health problems, poor interpersonal relationships, and lack of status and position and organizational climate. After the in-depth interviews, the reasons of these problems have been analyzed as that the low social recognition leads to the teachers’ negative professional values; the busy work swallows up the teachers’ professional ideals; the school management system affects the teachers’ professional development; the students’ problems causes the teachers’ professional stress, and the disharmonious interpersonal relationship adds to the teachers’ psychological pressures. According to the survey and the analysis, the author has put forward the methods of improvement from three aspects: the teachers themselves, schools and the society. That is:firstly, the teachers should initiatively improve their own survival status in quo; secondly, create a school environment which facilitates the teachers’ professional survival; thirdly, create a social environment which facilitates the teachers’ professional survival.
