A Study On The Elderly Education Policy In Fujian Province

The sixth census data show that China has a population of nearly 1.4 billion, of which around 170 million are beyond 60 and 110 million are beyond 65, with such a huge population base, and the large proportion of elderly people without exception declares China has stepped into the stage of aging in advance, in the new era we must face the problem of "getting old before getting rich". The arrival of the aging period has caught China off guard, we are facing the problems of lack of experience and without full considerations, but under the pressure of reality, we have to face the problems, to envisage the ageing of the population, to find the problems of the elderly caused by the aging, after discovered the problems we Chinese are facing for now and by the author’s understanding on the current situation, at the same time to seek truth from facts, combine with China’s current situation and then solve the problems. With the accelerating development speed of Chinese economics, people’s living philosophy has changed significantly, not fully focused on the basic necessities like transportation, foods, and clothes etc., but to pursuit a qualified spiritual life. They are willing to pay much more to get spiritual satisfaction, especially the elderly when they got more free time. From China’s real situation, most of the elderly prefer to keep in pace with the times other than be left out of the times on the one hand, and in order to cultivate hobbies on the other, to edify sentiment will into the old university and other places, eager to receive education, so the study on the education of the elderly has become a common topic which concerns national wide.Fujian Province is a province that located in the eastern China; a lot of investigation showed that the elderly population has reached 4.21 million, which are 1/10 of Fujian’s population. Such a huge elderly population indicates that the aging trend of Fujian. Huge aging population has brought great life education for the elderly. Because of Fujian is a Province located in the coastal area and with a relatively high economic level with respect to the inland areas, material living condition is superior, pursuit of the elderly also by the basic necessities like transportation, food and clothes switched to the perusing of the spiritual education and study, for the education of the elderly in Fujian Province is particularly prominent. In the face of such a situation is urgent, the Fujian Provincial Government shows great concerns to this kind of issues, and the elderly education as well, the problems are regarded as key issues of the population’s living situation construction in Fujian Province, issued a series of senior education policy, from the current situation, Fujian province has formed a five-level elderly education system, that is formed by province, city, county, township and village (community), and for the reason that Internet has grown more and more important for the people those are living in the "Information Age", elderly actively trying to distance education system, the establishment of relying on the Internet coverage, benefit the large number of the aged education in Fujian has been walking in the forefront of similar status, Fujian elderly education policy has become to learn from other provinces template.This paper studies and analyzes the development histories and the problems of the elderly education in Fujian Province from the following aspects. Finally, give some feasible suggestions according to the current situation of the elderly education and the literature research.The first part is introduction. The author summarizes the situation and research background of aging population at home and abroad, and then provides an introduction on the purpose of the paper; significance of the paper; technical routes of the paper and main research contents of this paper as well.The second part of the paper lays the literature review. Domestic and foreign related education of the elderly are studied by the author, and related disciplines of literature, all-round understanding of the education for the elderly in the current situation, to seize current situations and problems we facing on elderly education around the globe. This papersystematically introduces the concept of relative theory.The third part is mainly on analysis of the of Fujian Province’s geriatric education policy in a systematic and comprehensive way, from the policy of the earliest implementation to the specific historical background of the policy evolution and the characteristics of the times of Fujian Province geriatric education policy and in-depth analysis.The fourth part of the paper, the author arranges some analysis of the specified policy text. The policy text analysis the policy of the elderly education in Fujian Province, the responsibility department, the connotation, the development goal, the promotion system and the security policy of the elderly education policy in Fujian province were analyzed.The fifth part of the paper introduces some achievements and problems of Fujian’s education policy for the elderly. Three problems are found in the value, content and implementation of the elderly education policy in Fujian by analyze the theory of policy.The sixth part of the paper is to give some corresponding countermeasures based on the implementation of the elderly education policy of the in Fujian Province, and based on the current situation. By analyzing the text of the elderly education policy in Fujian Province, to master the problems of the elderly education policy in Fujian Province as well as the achievements, and come up with some suggestions to optimize the relevant policies.The author strongly hopes that by writing this paper and by come up such specific countermeasures can give Fujian Province as well as other Provinces those faced the same problems some references.
