| With the 90 new generation of college graduates get into the workplace, and combination the current murky economic trends which is slowing down and adjusting the structural in China. It’s important for China’s economic development and social stability to understand the employment situation and quality of college graduates in recent years. This study will be divided into two categories of different professional background of college graduates to compare. And this study will find out the current situation and the relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intention of college graduates in this period after graduation. Through the comparison, we can understand the quality of employment of college graduates in different professional backgrounds, and put forward the solution to them.In order to make comparative study, this paper divide the different professional background of graduates into science and engineering graduates and humanities and social sciences college graduates. Using the questionnaire investigation and SPSS empirical analysis, we will know current situation and differences of job satisfaction and turnover intention of this two kinds of graduates, and analysis their effects. Then we will contrast the similarities and differences between the dimensions of job satisfaction and turnover intention of this two types of graduates. The conclusions of this study are as follows:1.Two kinds of graduates’ mean of overall job satisfaction and job satisfaction dimensions are low. Two kinds of graduates’ mean of turnover intention is higher. And the two kinds of graduates in the job satisfaction and turnover intention are negatively correlated.2.The overall job satisfaction level of science and engineering graduates is higher than that of the humanities and Social Sciences graduates, and the turnover intention is less than that of the humanities and Social Sciences graduates. Specific to the various dimensions of job satisfaction, two kinds of graduates with little difference in dimensions of leadership and management. In this dimensions of work itself, pay and benefits, personal development, science and engineering graduates’ job satisfaction is higher than that of Humanities and social science graduates. In the dimension of interpersonal relationship, the degree of job satisfaction of science and engineering graduates is lower than that of the humanities and Social Sciences graduates.3.In dimensions of pay and benefits and personal development, Science and engineering graduates’ job satisfaction is relatively high, while in the dimension of interpersonal relationship, their job satisfaction is the lowest. And in dimensions of work itself and personal development, the degree of negative correlation between job satisfaction and turnover intention of science and engineering graduates is higher. In dimensions of interpersonal relationships and leadership management, humanities and social science graduates’ job satisfaction is the highest, while in the dimension of work itself, their job satisfaction is the lowest. And in dimensions of work itself and interpersonal relationship, the degree of negative correlation between job satisfaction and turnover intention of humanities and social science graduates is higher.Finally, according to the results of data research, we will respectively find the specific dimensions of job satisfaction and turnover intention of science and engineering graduates and humanities and social science graduates. First, we can make management recommendations for enterprises to retain talent and reduce turnover rate. Then, we can make constructive suggestions for Colleges and Universities about putting forward for the curriculum reform and employment guidance for college graduates with different professional background. Last, we can guide the two professional background of college graduates to choose the right career, It will improve their job satisfaction and reduce turnover intention. |
