Researchs On Turnover Intention’s Impact To Shanghai’s Secondary Vocational School Teachers’ Job Satisfaction

In recent years, vocational education has been through rapid development in Shanghai,which brings concerns regarding to augmentation of teaching staff in the secondaryvocational schools into the whole education system. With the changes seen in thestudents, there are increasing difficulties in the moral training and career developmentmentoring in the secondary vocational schools. Therefore, the teaching staffs areunder more pressure and the stability of the whole team is under considerable test.Based on literature review of the well-studied measurements from both domestic andabroad, we designed "Teachers’ Job Satisfaction Questionnaire from SecondaryVocational Schools in Shanghai","Teachers’ Occupational CommitmentQuestionnaire from Secondary Vocational Schools in Shanghai", and "Teachers’Turnover intention Questionnaire from Secondary Vocational School in Shanghai".We surveyed13secondary vocational schools in Shanghai, and collected101informative questionnaires. We then analyzed the collected data, focusing on thecorrelations between measurements of staffs’ job satisfaction, occupationalcommitment and turnover intention.Finally, we discussed the results based on the theoretical and empirical evidences, andsuggested the solutions to improve job satisfaction and to retain stability of the wholeteaching team.In China, there are limited studies regarding to the impact of staff’s job satisfaction ontheir turnover intention in the Secondary Vocational School, and none of the studiesrestrained this topic in Shanghai. This original study, specifically investigating thistopic in the Secondary Vocational School in Shanghai, fills in the gap in literatures.
