A Comparative Study On The Narrator Of High School Mathematics Compulsory Textbooks Between People’s Education Press A And Beijing Normal University Press

With the advance of the mathematics curriculum reform, five versions of senior high school mathematics textbooks in 2004 have been published in the guidelines of “ordinary high school mathematics curriculum standards”, which were fully implemented in 2007. Each version of the textbook has its own advantages and disadvantages, so it’s necessary to make a comparative study of those textbooks. Considering it takes too much time to compare all versions of those textbooks, the author choose People’s Education Press A and Beijing Normal University Press to be compared, both of them have the greatest influence and have been used the most widely. Besides, the narrator greatly improves the students’ subjective initiative study, and conforms to the core requirement of "people-oriented" of the new curriculum reform, so the author choose the textbook narrator as the research object.This paper takes literature analysis, comparative and content analysis as research methods. First of all, in the macro field, do a comparative study about the number, type, presentation, density and the difficulty of the two versions. Secondly, in the micro level, carefully select four chapters to do a concrete study. Through data processing and analysis, obtained the following conclusions: the narrator number and density of teaching material from People’s Education Press are higher than those of Beijing Normal University Press; two versions both have various types, and each has its own difference and characteristics; the presentation of the People’s Education Press is more various than the Beijing Normal University Press; in difficult level, the comprehensive difficulty of Beijing Normal University Press is higher than the People’s Education Press. According to the above conclusions, the author puts forward some suggestions for the narrator of high school mathematics textbooks: increasing the narrator density of the Beijing Normal University Press appropriately; enriching the narrator presentation of the Beijing Normal University Press; neutralizing the comprehensive difficulty of the two versions appropriately; paying attention to the information technology infiltration of the People’s Education Press.Finally, there are two directions can be improved further more: on the one hand, the breadth of the two editions textbooks can be studied, and find the advantages and disadvantages between the two versions of textbooks from this dimension; on the other hand, the remaining three versions of the high school mathematics textbook are also can be researched, and explore the advantages of each version to provide powerful suggestions for the construction of textbook narrator.
