In China,the basic education curriculum reform has gone through the process of more than ten years.With the deepening of reform and research of basic education mathematics curriculum,nine editions junior high school mathematics textbooks has published under the guidance of mathematics curriculum criterion of compulsory education in 2001.The Diversification of textbooks makes mathematics curriculum reform in compulsory education textbooks develop further.Different versions of textbooks has been characterized by textbooks'regionalization,whose order of arrangement,teaching methods,teaching content and teaching method are obviously different.Reading nine kinds of versions of textbooks,it is found that each version of textbook is rich in narration,and different textbooks have different characteristics and focus,for example,PEP textbooks puts the stress on nephograms and notes,while Hunan Education Press textbook bases on cartoon characters.New curriculum takes students' development as the core,and more emphasizes on the cultivation of students' ability and the improvement of mathematical literacy.The setting of textbooks' narration can improve students' interest in learning mathematics,and arouse students to think to a certain degree,which strengthens the potential function of "education" of textbooks.Two versions of textbooks selected in this paper are People's Education Press and Hunan Education Press(Volume grade seven to grade nine),a total of 12 textbooks.By the comparative analysis,the characteristics,similarities and differences of the two versions of textbooks can be summarized.In this paper,the methods of literature,comparative research,content analysis are adopted and Interview.First,starting from of the two types of textbooks narration,the number,type,visual effects and density are comparatively analyzed.Then,select the first three areas of "real","similar","analysis of data" from the four fields of "Number and Algebra","Graphics and Geometry","statistics and probability" and "comprehensive and practice",and combine with the specific contents of the two versions of textbooks to research the effect of textbooks'narration these three areas of "number and Algebra","graphics and geometry",and "statistics and probability".The research shows that the two versions are rich in textbooks narration.The overall number of Hunan Education Press narration terms is higher than PEP's,and its density is also significantly greater than PEP's.In the aspect of difficulty,the comprehensive difficulty of textbooks' narration of PEP is higher than Hunan Education Press's.From a visual look of the two versions of textbooks' narration,PEP is mainly white with blue border "cloud" and two rectangular "notes" in a pale yellow background,while the textbooks of Human Education Press mainly bases on cute cartoon characters.In the Manifestation of narration,the two types of versions have their own characteristics.PEP contains a unique "cloud," and "notes" narration,but Hunan Education Press contains a unique "annotation" narration.Besides,the two versions lay particular stress on the narration of "schematic diagram".From the aspect of teaching effect,the proportion of PEP' narration is much higher than Human education Press's in the three fields and "problem and thinking" in each grade,while the proportion of "explanation"narration of Hunan Education Press is much higher than PEP's,which indicates that PEP textbook focuses on "problem and thinking",while Hunan Education Press emphasis put stress on "explanation" narration.
