Teaching method is causing great concern because it’s the soul of the classroom and the important way of teaching.After the Basic Education Curriculum Reform(trial implementation) issued by the Ministry of Education in 2011 put forward the basic requirement of active participation,willing exploration,deligent beginning and cooperation,more and more teaching methods are discovered,such as inquiry-based teaching.experiential teaching,group teaching,etc.The single teaching of the P.E using is not able to meet the current sports for development of youngsters. This asks for the gym teachers’ improvement in teaching methods. The author of this thesis combines the through of discovery learning and her two years’ teaching experience in Xi’an Tieyi Binhe School, and makes a comparative with the traditional theory. The author of this thesis intends to promote the students’ dominant role in physical education, intimate their active learning. In order to analyze the teaching efficiency of grouping inquiry P.E. teaching method, the author of this thesis employ different methods of literature review, experimentation, question survey, logical analysis, observation and information statistics, and she also takes full consideration to students’ interest, mastery degree of knowledge and innovation. And comes to the following conclusions: 1. students’ dominant position is fully showed under the grouping inquiry method; 2. it helps to improve students’ communicative ability; 3. it enhances students’ cooperative awareness; 4. it increases teachers’ teaching effiency; 5. it cultivates students’ self-confidence; 6. it overwhelms the traditional teaching methods concerning students’ interest in physical education, mastery degree of knowledge and innovation abilities. All of these account for the meaning and value of this research.
