With the rapid development of society, the educational level is developing rapidly as the development of economy. Furthermore,the whole society has paid more and more attention to English learning, and English has became a standard of walking into the internationalization. Therefore, people have attached more and more importance to English learning. While, during learning period, teaching material is a main tool, and it is changing according to the need of society and learning, as a result there are different kinds of teaching materials in the market now. So we need to analyze and evaluate these teaching materials, then use them properly according to their features.In 2001, the new set of teaching material Go For It has came into use in Xin Jiang region. By the autumn of 2012, the revised edition of Go For It has been used in this region. The revised edition has changed a lot comparing with its last edition. The teacher feel confused about how to make full use of this revised edition. This thesis is trying to analyze and evaluate this revised edition of Go For It, and give some practical advises to the users.Through literature study,material analysis, and questionnaire, this paper analyzed and evaluated the revised edition of Go For It based on English New Curriculum Standard and some related textbook evaluation theories. By analyzing and evaluating, some disadvantages and advantages have been found. Firstly, the topics are wide-ranging and relate to students’life closely, but it pays a little attention to the local culture. Secondly, the format of this material is fresh, which includes both pictures and texts, but the auxiliary materials is lack and unuseful. Thirdly, the training of general abilities are emphasized in this textbook, and the vocabulary is large for the student. Lastly, the tasks of this textbook are abundant, which is helpful for students to practice the target language, but they are difficult to handle. According to all of these features, the teacher’s proper use of this textbook is hoped, which can maximized the function of the material and improve the efficiency of teaching. And the compilers can consummate the textbook according to the current use of this textbook.
