Life education is a new theory of education which is based on man arising in1960 s. With the congnition and comprehension of life, it urges students to improve the quality of life forwardly. This theory is focused on comprehensive and free development of students. It also helps students to understand themselves, evaluate themselves correctly, and therefore it improves life quality and help students to form right outlook on life.Junior high school students are undergoing the transition from children to adults,the key period of cultivating their self-integration, role recognition and character building. Based on the field research, this thesis aims to study the present situation in junior high school life education, find the essential problems, provide some advice and countermeasure, and work out certain solutions in an attempt to achieve better enforcement.This research is conducted based on questionnaires and interviews. First, related data are collected and analyzed through questionnaires among certain respondents including students and teachers. Then, interviews are arranged with some students and teachers to learn about their basic knowledge of the life education and their mastery of relative knowledge in order to find data which are close to reality. Finally, integration analyses are made on all the collected data to draw some preliminary conclusions,which help to organize the life education more effectively.A conclusion can be reached that junior high schools are recognizing the importance of the life education and begin to pay attention to it, but systematic life education has not been formed. Major problems of today’s life education lie in the following aspects: Educators’ role in the system of life education is unsceptered; the education of the students’ life value orientation is flawed; the awareness of self-protection and their attitude towards life as well as the cultivation of good interpersonal relationship is defectively; the system of students’ life education is not systematical; the accomplishment of teachers’ life education and the faculty of life education are deficient; implicit factors of social education have bad influence on students’ outlook on life; institution-buidling and supporting facility of life education are incomplete.Aiming at the problems in junior high school life education, the author puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions: Educators should improve their congnizance of the importance of life education and restore the education which is based on human nature; educators should improve students’ awareness of self-protection and cultivate students’ healthy interpersonal relationship so as to reduce the bad influence of social implicit factors on students; educators should complete institution-buidling and supporting facility of life education.
