The former concepts means that the students acquired some perceptual knowledge and experience by the accumulation and learning of daily life before accepting the concept of science. When consistent with scientific concept, the former concept plays promoting role in learning scientific concepts; When conflicts with scientific concept, the former concept have inhibitory effect on learning scientific concepts. Research shows that students have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the mind before studying chemistry, rather than a piece of paper. That is the existence of the former concept. these chemical concept has characteristics such as universality, stubborn, concealment, so it is not easily spotted by educators. when students are learning new knowledge, they are often affected by the former concept. These former concept are der ived from the personal experience of everyday life, teaching way of teachers, and many factors such as the influence of between disciplines.Ninth grade chemistry is the important stage for students to learn chemistry course, teachers need to understand students’ the former chemical concepts and take a certain strategy and help students to change the original concept by targeted teaching. The study experiments on ninth grade chemical teaching material and investigates the students of the former chemistry concept on the basis of the theory of constructionism. Based on the former concept, this study adopted a certain strategy, such as creating problem situation to trigger cognitive conflict, guiding students to discuss and self- monitoring, and timely feedback to finish concept change teaching. The aim of the study is to improve the ninth grade chemistry concept teaching.
