Design And Development Of MOOC Video Resources

MOOC has been widely concerned by people from the appearance to now with its’ characteristics of open, free and the strong participation etc. in online education. While the video resources occupy a dominant position in MOOC, and it is the main way for learners to acquire knowledge and learning in MOOC. How to design and develop high quality and efficiency video resources is very worthy for MOOC makers.In this study, the author is according to the characteristics of the MOOC video resources to investigate the characteristics and strategies of designing the MOOC video resources with the MOOC course-- "Introduction to Chinese Traditional Culture" in Hebei University. The author will be constantly improving the design of the MOOC video resources in practice. This paper describes the principle and characteristics of the creation of the MOOC video resources and put forward several key steps in the development of the MOOC video resources:Checking the course, front-end analysis, design of the manuscript and shooting script,accessing to video editing, video resources, video output, etc. Finally, the author completed the production of the video in MOOC. According to the course “Introduction to Chinese Traditional Culture”, the author carries on the teaching design and makes the shooting script based on the front-end analysis. Collects resources from the network and designs the PPT courseware. In the process of editing video material, the author put the PPT courseware into a video format by the screen recording software, then edit and develop the video resources by the non- linear editing software – Edius and AE. This study would have been certain theoretical and practical meanings to produce the MOOC video resources.
