Geographic image is the most appropriate to express the geographic information of the carrier, because it has the advantages of generality and visual image, this is can’t be matched by the rich language, so learning geography, as it is called "second language" a little too much. In geography teaching process, to targeted image teaching, strengthen its practicality, more practice, let the students learning and using the method of geography image gradually, this can improve the students’ comprehensive ability in geography. At the same time, it will improve the quality of teachers’ teaching and professional, for the smooth completion of the teaching task will go a long way. Through to the middle school geography image ability training institute for recovery of statistics and analysis of the questionnaire, the author found that the students geography study effect is good or bad largely depends on their ability to geographical image of the master degree. Covering research, so I choose this topic and deep understanding in the process of research to the geographic image ability training is a complex and systematic work, involves all aspects of the geography teaching. For teachers and students, how to improve the comprehensive ability of the image and applied to the life, can maximum limit arouse the value of geography, let geography image in students play more and more profound role in future life.This article is divided into seven parts:The first part is introduction, mainly introduced in this paper, the research background, research purpose, research significance, research methods and research progress at home and abroad.The second part is chapter one geographic image system overview. First expounds the concept of geographic image system, and then to the image in junior high school geography teaching material system type has carried on the detailed classification, and discusses the geography image role in geography learning.The third part is the theoretical basis of cultivating the ability of second chapter geographic image. Firstly expounds the necessity of cultivating the ability of geography image, then respectively from behaviorism learning theory, constructivism learning theory and multiple intelligence theory provide theoretical support for geographic image ability.The fourth part is chapter 3 geographical image ability present situation investigation and results analysis. To design the questionnaire first, and then makes a statistic analysis on the questionnaire for teachers and students respectively, the conclusion.The fifth part is chapter 4 junior high school geography image ability cultivation problems and countermeasures. First of all, the reason for the problems of the questionnaire analysis. Then aiming at these problems, the author puts forward several countermeasures.Chapter v of the sixth divided into geographical image design ability training cases.The seventh part is the conclusion of the result of this paper has carried on the induction and summary with deficiencies.
