| College students are the main power of country development and they have high self-responsibility and shoulder an important historical mission in China’s great revival. At the same time, college students themselves want to realize their own value by making contributions to society. However, with the rapid change of the whole society, social values have been fluctuating dramatically, which has enormous influence on college students’ values. Their actions are blind in many ways. More importantly, a large amount of them have lost their passions, dreams and even the sense of mission. For these reasons, it’s necessary and urgent to cultivate college students’ self-responsibility in China. This thesis focuses on the problems of college students’ self-responsibility cultivation and its strategy.First of all, the literature on responsibility, self-responsibility and college students’ self-responsibility published in the last a few years were collated and reviewed in this thesis. Then, the thesis started with three real-life cases showing the lack of self-responsibility of these students in universities, thus, indicating the importance of the self-responsibility cultivation of university students. After giving some fundamental definitions and concepts relating to self-responsibility, the thesis gave an overview of the researching subjects and contents of self-responsibility cultivation of university youngsters. What’s more, questionnaires were designed based on ten different perspectives and three different layers of self-responsibility and distributed to current students in universities in order to collect the empirical results and summarise the characteristics of the current students’ self-responsibility. Then, misunderstandings of self-responsibility cultivation were discussed from three perspectives, and the reasons why these misunderstandings exist were also analysed. Finally, several recommendations were given on how to improve the college students’ self-responsibility from four different dimensions: family, school, society and college students themselves. |
