With the competition of international economy, science and technology fiercer, every citizen must possess scientific literacy and innovation ability, which become more and more important in the national overall development. As the foundation of scientific literacy, the primary science curriculum of basic status has been not questioned. As a synthetic subject, the primary science has its own more remarkable characteristic compared with other curriculum. The primary science is a synthetic subject including biology, physics, chemistry and geography, that focus on training students’ ability by practical teaching. As a primary educator, we need to keep up with the new curriculum reform philosophy, and research the primary science instructional mode in order to enhance the teaching effect.Nowadays, the implementation of the primary science curriculum plays little role on form student’s scientific accomplishment, because of the teachers’ teaching methods existing big problem. Most teachers did not change the traditional teaching methods, and is still the master of knowledge and classroom, regardless of the student’s knowledge levels and result in the knowledge what students master just by face value. This method is not conducive to the cultivation of scientific literacy because of depressed students’ initiative, enthusiasm and creativity. The teaching method is booming by student-based educational principle, on background of the new curriculum reform. Student-based Education advocates independent learning in many ways, including "teaching based on learning, learning before teaching, less teaching and more learning, and teaching without instruction", rather than the traditional teaching methods. Before class, students read their own textbooks, gather information, accomplish designed assignment, independent learning new knowledge. And as a mentor the teacher guide to explore cooperation in the student group, class discussions and exchange of self-mastery and learn new knowledge, and experience the process of knowledge acquisition in class. In the practice of the education based on students, Korla experimental middle school, in the province of Xinjiang, I have a study of the application of the student-based teaching mode. And under the guidance of the student-based educational philosophy, we can design the corresponding primary science disciplines teaching cases according to the relevant educational theory. We can gradually modify and improve eventually to provide the reference to the front-line teachers in teaching practice.This thesis is comprised by of five sections. Section I mainly describes the relevant research of background, current study methods, and the theory and purpose about this thesis. Section II analyses the relevant concepts of student-based Education and elaborates on the relevant theories. Section III brings forward the primary science teaching method based on Student-based Education, by analyzing the problems, as well as the root cause, of existing reading class in elementary school in a great detail, and other subjects practical significance. Section IV demonstrates the current practice application of Student-based Education. Section V elaborates the achievements and insufficient for teaching status, and future work are prospected.
