An Analysis Of Service Intervening In The Support Of Family Care For Urban Disabled Elders

Family care is still the main endowment mode of Chinese disabled elders at present.As there exists the contradiction between the elderly population explosion and endowment resources shortage,and the current three endowment modes of home care,community care and institutional care which act by their own free will,and then making care-modes not give full play to their advantages because of the lack of effective guide,are far from meeting the demand of disabled elders,exploring how to carry out the support of family care for disabled elders still has an important significance.This paper mainly summarizes the theoretical achievements of domestic and overseas long-term care and family care with the method of literature research.By field research method and case study method,the research into status of family care for disabled elders in S street in Fuzhou in the case found these problems exist in family care, including high care pressure, insufficient human resources during family care,weak financial and social support,single service contents of family care,and low level of nursing care.And then according to the summarized experience of the support of family care for disabled elders in social work service project which was carried out in S street,advice of construction of the support system of family care for urban disabled elders is provided.On one hand,social work helps the community, the retirement organization,the national and social forces support family care,that is adhering to the dominant position of family care,enhancing the support role of the community,promoting the supplement development of institutional care and perfecting guarantee mechanism of family care for disabled elders according to the demand of disabled elders,family caregivers and the whole family.On the other hand,social work needs to integrate the above resources which unite to provide support for family care.
