Objective Using the questionnaire and individual depth interview to comprensively analyze the influence of different social relations to the quality of life in hypertension patients who live in senior club.Methods Mixed methods research which combining qualitative and quantitative research is adopted in this research.In the quantitative part: totally 108 hypertension patients in the senior club who volunteer to participate in the research were selected. Excluding the people of stroke, tumor and completely bedridden. Use the scale of SF-36 and self-made questionnaire to analyzing the influence of different social relations on the quality of life in the hypertension patients.SPSS18.0 was used to analyze the data; Methods of one-way analysis of variance, multiple linear regression were used to analyze the significant influencing factors of quality of life.In the qualitative part: Through phenomenological analysis, interviews were conducted in 10 hypertension patients by purpose sampling methods. Colaizzi method of data analysis was used to analyze the interview data.Results 1. In the senior club, the mean score of the quality of life in hypertension patients was 101.28±15.14. 38.89% of the people’s life quality was in good level, 58.33% was in the middle level.2. Statistical analysis revealed that there were significant difference in quality of life in different marital status, living state, the different frequency of contacts with theirs children, relative, social worker, neighbors, friends and colleagues, the different social support from spouse, children, relative, different relationship with social workers, medical worker, neighbors, colleagues and the number of friends(P<0.05).3. Interview results showed: In hypertension patients, the effect of social relations on the quality of life is mainly reflected in the following aspects: ①social relationships with family which has positive influence on the quality of life were :The happy for lightens the burden of family, the special and significant of the support from spouses and children. On the contrary, the negative was: Lack of family care, care of ambivalence. ②social relationships with the senior club staff which has positive influence on the quality of life were : Social workers enrich the spiritual life, medical improve the health consciousness.The Negative was: The fear of EMS.③social relationships with the elderly(neighbors,friends) which has positive influence on the quality of life were :The happiness of increased social contact, the share of knowledge.The negative was: The inert of making Friends, small contradiction between the elderly people. ④ social relationships with colleague which has positive influence on the quality of life was the increasing exchange of information.The negative was the social reduction.Conclusions In the senior club, majority of the hypertension patients’ quality of life was at the medium above level. There are many factors affecting the quality of life of hypertension patients, so in order to improve their quality of life, we need to pay attention to individual differences, targeted measures to improving the social relationship for hypertension patients.
