May 2006,the Education Department and other four departments jointly romulgated the "Notification of Special Post Plan in Rural Compulsory School ’,which decided to start the "Rural Compulsory School Teachers Special Post ’lan".Since then, thousands of college graduates devoted to teaching in remote and )oor rural areas schools,the fresh blood for rural compulsory education was nputted,and the special post teachers began to receive close attention.Burnout means ractitioners can not cope with the requirement from the outside and the requests )eyond personal energy and resources,leading to the depletion of hysical,psychological,behavioral and otherwise.For the special working object of eachers,their burnout was paid close attention from academic area.But by January 13, 2015,the literature research result about burnout of special post teachers is only 4 )ieces,only 1 of them reported the survey of present situation,other 3 articles were speculative.Therefore,it is necessary to carry on further study on special post teachers’ )urnout.By the end of 2012,more than 235000 special post teachers were recruited in China,by the end of 2014,more than 50800 special post teachers were recruited in Yunnan province.With the expanding of special post teachers’ team,problems arise.The existing investigation shows:emotional exhaustion phenomenon is widespread in special post teachers.Previous studies have confirmed that:there are )airwise correlation among burnout,quality of life (which is similar to quality of work ife) and social support, but the integrated study about correlation among them is acked.Therefore,it is necessary to do further study on the status and relationship of special post teachers’burnout,quality of work life and social support.The study includes two parts:Part 1,revision of Social Support Rating Scale.To nspect the factor structure of social support scale,30 teachers are selected in structured interviews,and 237 in-service teachers of middle and primary schools are elected as the initial subjects.Revised scale is suitable for the work situation of rimary and middle school teachers,and the reliability and validity of it is ;xcellent.Part 2,the study of present situation and relation among burnout, quality of teachers in Yunnan province are selected,and other 202 general post teachers as the esearch object.The current situation, the differences on demographic variables and he relation of burnout,quality of work life and social support of special post teachers ire system analyzed,the differences between special post teachers and general post eacher in three are compared. indings are as follows:(1) The Social Support Scale for middle and primary school teachers is composed )y subjective support,objective support and the use of support.18 test items with a migher differential validity and internal consistency reliability.The scale has ideal ;riterion-related validity and construct validity.(2) The burnout of special post teachers is in lower middle level,whether service )eriod, gender, major, will of application, whether native,communication )arriers,whether to accept the local custom,title and school level have significant mpact on one or more dimensions of special post teachers’ burnout.(3) The quality of work life of special post teachers is in the middle evel,gender,maj or, whether the major counterpart, will of application, whether native,whether to accept the local custom,education background,title,school level, ;raduation school level,rank of school and native place have significant impact on one or more dimensions of special post teachers’ quality of work life.(4) The special post teachers’ social support level is slightly lower than subjects in )ther study, gender,will of application,whether native,whether to accept the local ;ustom and title have significant impact on one or more dimensions of social support.(5) Special post teachers’ depersonalization and burnout is significantly higher than he general post teachers’, school work conditions,benefits and sparetime life standards in quality of work life,and social support level is significantly lower than he general post teachers’.(6) There is significant correlation among special post teachers’ burnout,quality of work life and social support,quality of work life and social support have significant negative predictor for the burnout.(7) The special post teachers’ social support has significant direct influence,and also indirect effect on burnout,quality of work life is a mediator between social support and burnout. |
