In order to improve learning interest among junior middle school students,the article attempts to cultivate students’ interest in biology from the creation of arousing students’ interest in situational teaching.Class situation is a specific environment which students can participate in it,not only the situational teaching can be applied to the whole class,but also can be applied to any link to summarize and generalize.This study firstly starts from the learning interest and situational teaching,uses the method of literature overview summarize the concepts of situational teaching and learning interest,and concludes the related research datas about inland and abroad. The author Investigates 170 students of one junior middle school in Lanzhou city Gansu province in the method of questionnaire,and interviewes the school’s biology teachers about the students’ interest to the type of biology knowledge in the method of interview. Then,the author analysises the results of the survey,summarizes the factors that affect teenager students’ interest in learning and combine the own experience in biological teaching,establish a series of teaching situation in biology classroom and practice them to stimulate students’ interest,improve their learning interest of biology.According to the investigation result, most students are interested in biology,and satisfied to the biological class.On the basis of the investigation and study,the author create a series of teaching situation according to students’ psychological characteristics and the influence factors of learning interest and take the biology teaching practice for one semester. These situations are:scenes of daily life situations,real situation,interesting story situation,social hot spot problem situation,biological science situation,poems and the artistic language situation,multimedia situation,problem situation,etc.Based on above classroom practice of teaching situation,I can obtain the following conclusions:1.Situational teaching can inspire the junior students’ interests during learning biology,also can make them become the truly subject of learning; 2.Teaching situation can help students to understand knowledge in the book deeply; 3.It can improve teachers’ own quality in the process of cultivating students’ interest in learning.
