| So many researches about volunteer services have been conducted by experts both abroad and at home and great achievements have been made. However,researches which are concerned with the professional competences of graduates are rarely conducted. In this thesis, based on the research findings both abroad and at home, the relationship between volunteer services and professional competence of graduates is explored among graduate volunteers by means of questionnaires and interviews at the aim of offering instructive experiences for both development of volunteer services and personnel training. As regards the professional competence of graduates, it consists of professional capacity, methodological capacity and social capacity. Improvement of competences is a priority in volunteer activities by means of which the graduates can enhance professional competences.By virtue of investigations,it is found that volunteer activities serve to enhance the professional knowledge and skills, flexibility and economic senses in the future careers. It also helps train graduates for improving analyzing ability and strategic capacity, creative capability and evaluation ability and so on. In so doing, graduates can improve social capacity,cooperative capacity, organizing ability and criticism and self-criticism capacity.On the basis of questionnaire investigations, it is found that volunteer activities play a positive role in improving the professional competences of graduates. In accordance with the research result, the competences of volunteers are superior to that of non-volunteer graduates.In the light of developing the professional competences of graduates, volunteer activities are promoted so as to enhance the awareness of competences development by virtue of building up a platform and creating a favorable environment for volunteer graduates. |
