The Research On Ceramics Of Dai People In Gasa Areas

In some ethnic minority groups in Yunnan, the ancient pottery traditions are still preserved, the Dai people have a very long history of pottery crafts, originated in the age of Neolithic, hitherto the methods of clay-strip construction modeling and flat-ground firing are still in practice. The Dai pottery crafts technology is the "living fossil" of Neolithic pottery crafts, its development is the reflection the ever-changing way of Dai people’s life. Through the study of Dai ceramic technology is a way to obtain an overall grasp and deepen the understanding of Dai culture.This study selected the Tuguo village of Xinping county as fieldwork point, drawing on the basis of previous research on the technique of Yunnan Dai pottery, combining comparative study, field research, literature study, summarized method with practice, with the first-hand fieldwork data, the investigation focus on the craftsmanship and current status of Gasa-Dai pottery technology.In the study for Gasa-Dai pottery technology, this paper recorded the characteristics of Gasa-Dai pottery craft and its methods with details, researched the development status of Gasa-Dai pottery craft, researched and analyzed the craftsmanship, analyzed its aesthetic characteristics.Finally, through the comparative study of the development of Gasa-Dai pottery technology, the author analyzed the multiple new changes that have took place in recent years, and contributed his own ideas for the economic development of the Gasa-Dai pottery industry.
