The importance of classical Chinese teaching has attracted more and more attention. But there are still many difficulties of it in high schools. Facing such difficulties, we should have positive thinking about the gains and loss of classical Chinese teaching. Only by finding the problems and solving them can the teaching goes on orderly. One of the problems is the modernization of classical Chinese teaching.In teaching practice, the author used literature study, comparative investigation, case analysis and other research methods to study the classical teaching in detail in order to make sure that the paper is objective, comprehensive and the conclusion is reached through data analysis.The reason why classical Chinese teaching cannot be promoted effectively is that the modernization of it fails to keep in pace with educational reform. Modernization of it can play a positive role in students’ learning and teachers’ teaching. During an era of modernization, students can fully feel the spirit of the times, willing to learn classical Chinese. Meanwhile, teachers are ready to teach. In terms of the teaching content, teachers should dedicate to textbooks, breaking the stylized form of "teaching dead books" so as to make the content relevant to modern lives and stimulate students’ interest in learning. We aim to achieve the strategic guideline of building a cultural power to pass and carry forward our excellent traditional culture.This thesis is divided into two parts: problems of classical Chinese teaching and solutions for them. For the first part, it mainly discusses how elements like teaching philosophy, teaching content, teaching methods restrict the modernization of classical Chinese teaching. The second part deals with these problems through some examples so that readers can vividly understand how to carry out the modernization. The solutions are focused on "three-dimensional objects" and "reverse classroom", making the teaching practical instead of just “on paper”.
