Since the reform and opening up, China’s rapid development of society, there have been high divorce rate, resulting in a lot of broken families and a large number of single-parent families with children. Due to the special nature of single-parent families and their children——the absence of a parent, single-parent families with children tend to be young people, in the formative personality stage ——children in single-parent family in the growth process may encounter some problems, or in the material or spir itual, need to give more social support. But when social support is to give children in single-parent fam ilies, we should first understand how is the current social support situation of single-parent families with c hildren, what is the social support they need, how they come to understand social support. Understanding the true meaning of social support is very important, which not only allows the public to have a "the author it ies" to understand single-parent families with children, but provide an effective basis for future interventions to help children of single-parent families.This study uses qualitat ive research methods to explore the social support of children in single-parent families from the perspective of subjectivity. Through in-depth interviews with nine children of single-parent families, firstly described the feelings they exper ienced family tragedies, found that changes in the family bring their influence to have a positive impact also have a negative impact. Secondly described the experience of social support in the process of growing, including support from family, community, school and society, found a lack of emotional support of children of single parent families and lack of formal support. Then, construct a social support from the perspective of subjectivity, and its connotations are that children in single-parent families need moral spiritual support and that they hope the society can treat them with understanding and tolerance and that they fear emphasize their "single parent family" ident ity and facing social support has a paradoxical psychological and that social support object should also include their parents. Finally, author discuss the relat ionship between the negative and posit ive effects, material support and spiritual support, "helping" and "recipients" and discuss who should provide social support. The author puts forward corresponding suggestions.
