With the transformation of world agriculture from the single function, low efficiency,high resource dependence to the multi-function, high efficiency, high-tech based modern agriculture, the agriculture of our country also need to track and grasp the frontier technology and dynamic changes of modern agriculture in a timely manner. The agronomic majors of the local agricultural colleges are professional and targeted in the field of agriculture. It is not only become the base for agriculture and related departments or units to train senior scientific and technical talents who are engaged in agricultural related technology and design, promotion and development, operation and management,teaching and research, but also wings science and technology in agriculture, and become the dominant force to promote the development of agricultural modernization. To improve the quality of undergraduate education, to cultivate the talents possessing solid professional knowledge, innovative consciousness and practical ability is becoming the common understanding in the field of Agricultural Higher Education in our country. The factors such as agronomic undergraduates’ professional recognition, loyalty, and emotional dependence work closely together with agronomic undergraduate’s professional quality,professional behavior and the training work of high-quality comprehensive talents which is the need for agricultural development. To survey, analyze and research the professional identity of agronomic undergraduates, the factors which influence the cultivation of professional identity, and how to improve their professional identity, become a key problem which needs to be solved for the cultivation of contemporary agronomic undergraduate talent.This paper takes the professional identity of A University’s agronomic undergraduates as the main research object, excluding the undergraduates about related majors in independent college. First of all, based on the analysis and research of the connotation and the constitute system of professional identity, the professional division and the subject characteristics of undergraduate majors in agronomy, I will investigate deeply and analyze comparatively for the professional identity of agronomic undergraduates. So that we can summarize the problems and shortcomings existing in the professional identity of agronomic undergraduates, and find out the restriction factors about improving the professional identity of A University’s agronomic undergraduates. Finally, combined with the present situation of higher education and the actual situation of A University, I will put forward some effective ways for training and enhancing the professional identity of agronomic undergraduates from the perspectives of strengthening the external environmental construction, deepening the reform of education and exerting students’ subjectivity.
