With the progress of society, mathematical modeling applications have been greatly used and praised, and developing mathematical modeling teaching in middle school has become a hot topic. Compulsory mathematics curriculum standards (2011 edition) makes some clear requirements of mathematical modeling, and affirm the value of the mathematical modeling teaching. Because of mathematical modeling short course of time, most of the teachers and students understanding of mathematical modeling is shallow and there is little research about the modeling teaching.Although in recent years, studies of constructivism theory is very much, But the constructivism theory to guide the research of middle school mathematical modeling teaching is less. Mathematical Modeling teaching is the essence of mathematics education,and constructivism theory as the in-depth understanding of the essence of mathematics education provides a new angle of view and ideas, at the same time, the theory of constructivism emphasizes the learners’own active meaning construction,due to the mathematical modeling process is an active process of construction, the author choose constructivist theory to discuss the mathematical modeling teaching in middle school.Firstly, this paper presents the development and the basic ideas of constructivism theory. Secondly, the paper defines the model, the mathematical model, mathematical modeling, combining with the interpretation of curriculum standards to elaborate the importance of mathematical modeling teaching in middle schools,which contains:developing mathematical modeling teaching and modeling related activities can develop students’ability to integrate information, and it can enhance students’ability of mathematical application, self-learning,computer skills, teamwork, innovation and strengthen students’ability of rigorous scholarship.In the empirical research, the author scientifically adopted questionnaire survey, interview and comparison method to investigate and analyze the present situation of the mathematical modeling teaching in the fourth middle school in Yanji City. The results show that there are some problems in the process of the mathematical modeling teaching in middle school, for example, the positioning error of mathematical modeling, lacking of professional modeling studies courses, teachers’professional level restrictions, students’lacking of innovation consciousness, the lack of students main body status.students’geometry transformation ability is weak.Through investigation and analysis, the author mastered the material of first instance along with my proficiency of my own major, with the help of basic educational research methods and constructivist theory, the author analyze different models one by one. Through analysis and research, the author puts forward the following strategy:correct positioning mathematical modeling, strengthen the modeling course research, improve teachers’professional quality, cultivate students innovation consciousness, take the student as the main body, enhance students’ability to geometry transformation. This study aims to explore the middle school mathematics teaching strategies under the guidance of constructivist theory,is better to build middle school mathematical modeling teaching system,and improve the current provide certain theoretical basis for the teaching of mathematical modeling.
