With the problem of migrant children becoming one of the burning issues, people are gradually paying more attention to the problem of how migrant children contacting with peers. Studies have shown that migrant children contacting with peers is of far-reaching significance for the development of migrant children. Favorable contacting with peers can not only promote mental and physical development, but also help migrant children possess normal socialization. As a result, they can better adapt to the city and integrate themselves into city life, which plays an important role in the harmonious development of the whole society. Therefore, social work should strengthen the studies on migrant children contacting with peers.In this study, three research methods are used:questionnaire, participatory observ ation and unstructured interviews, taking the Project D as an example. Besides, taking the migrant children who participate in Project D as the research object, this study analyses the present situation of migrant children contacting with peers in Project D from the following aspects:the activities of homework assistance, group activities, game events and theme activities. What’s more, this study makes comprehensive evaluation of the influence of Project D on migrant children contacting with peers through combining quantitative data and qualitative data. Research findings show that the breadth and depth of contacting with peers have significantly expanded, interactive content have enriched and positive ways to interact have increased. Besides, the increased prosocial behaviors existing migrant children among the peers and the capacities of interaction with peers have significantly improved after migrant children participating in Project D. However, there also exist some deficiencies, such as paying no attention to migrant children contacting with peers, unclear rules for contacting, the limitations of contacting partners, the presence of small groups who have bad habits. The existence of these problems produces some negative effects on migrant children contacting with peers. In order to improve the situation of migrant children contacting with peers, this thesis puts forward relevant suggestions in the fina1part from the several aspects:paying attention to migrant children contacting with peers, establishing clear rules for migrant children contacting with peers, improving th e contacting skills for migrant children among the peers and striving for cooperation a nd coordination between schools and parents.
