With the increasing aging people and accelerating population migration, there will be more elderly immigrants, which changes our family structure and pension system. Data of sixth nationwide population census shows that the amout of elderly immigrants from other provinces has reached159500in Shanghai. For the elderly immigrants, not only living space and lifestyle changes, may also facing a variety of adapting problems in this city. However, with the same environment background, the elderly immigrants get different social inclusion cases, which shows individual factor plays an important role. Thus, our core research subject is how individual factors affecting the elderly immigrant’s social inclusion.By selecting a typical case, this article has an exploratory research of the subject, using the in-depth interview and observation method to collect data. This paper examines how life and historical events have cumulative influence on social inclusion through life course perspective. Taking personal and family as the ananlysis framework, the research explorys personal qualities and family changes, and sheds lights on that how the individual factors affect elderly immigrant’s social inclusion.The study found that the social integration of elderly immigrant into different levels and varying degrees of order. Specifically, the economic integrates is the highest, and easiest to accomplish. Followed the community participation, and the most difficult is psychological integration. In his life course, the individual initiative such as optimistic, education and career as well as the relationship between family members have great impacts. While, the policy and environment also worked. These all turn to advantages of cumulative into social inclusion.
