The most important thing in the elementary school sports teaching, sports games is oneof the indispensable content, and in our life, the most widely circulated, rules, easy to operate,simple and interesting activities with universality and educational is the traditional folk game,it is a highly participative games in our lives. In the usual sports teaching into the content ofthe traditional folk game, can pass our Chinese traditional culture, but also can promote thehealthy growth of the students.The research of this paper, I chose the Shandong province Weifang city Kuiwen districtShengrong Primary school third grade four classes of228students as a primary experimentobject, and random determines the grade three class one and class two, as the experimentalclasses, grade three class three and class four as comparative classes, meanwhile use thequestionnaire survey method, mathematical statistics method, documentation method, expertinterview method, experimental method, and logic analysis and other research methods,through the investigation and research, fully tap the value of traditional folk game in theelementary school sports teaching, make students master some skills and methods of thetraditional folk games activities, promote the primary school students set up the “lifelongsports” consciousness, strengthen the sports knowledge, develop good fitness habits. At thesame time make a effective usage of traditional folk game to improve and increase theelementary school sports curriculum resources, let folk games take root in the school, that hasa long history of traditional folk game can keep energetic has been circulated.This study through research and experimental analysis, get the following conclusions:(1)Under the existing teaching model, the subjective desire of students to learn physicalknowledge is not too high.(2) Physical education teachers consider that game teaching has animportant position in PE teaching in primary schools, they also willing to try to introducetraditional folk sports game content in the classroom.(3) Parents are very concerned about thesituation and the physical fitness of students with special educational significance oftraditional folk games, also willing to accompany students to participate the games in leisuretime.(4) The introduction of traditional folk game content in elementary school PE class, caneffectively improve the students’ interest in learning, so that students are effectively majorphysical improvement and development.(5) The introduction of traditional folk games in elementary school physical education classes should follow the principle of practicality,innovation, openness, hierarchical and motivating. Through research, I make a fewsuggestions for elementary school physical education classes to introduce traditional folkgames:(1) Create a favorable environment to introduce traditional folk games for the teachingprocess.(2) Introduce traditional folk games to elementary school physical educationcurriculum should mobilize the enthusiasm of teachers and parents participation.(3) TheSelection of the games should depending on the age of students in different physiological andpsychological characteristics.(4) Making innovation for folk traditional game based on theactual situation of known home-school resource.
