The new curriculum reform particularly emphasize to develop "the function of humanistic education" and "the function of civic education" of the subject of history. Although peace and development has been recognized as the main themes of the present era, but local conflicts and terrorism is still happen often, and imperil the survival and development of mankind. Therefore, with the help of history curriculum contents, penetrate Education for International Understanding in the teaching of history has its practical significance.On the study of combination about Education for International Understanding and the teaching of history, although have made some achievements, but on the whole is not systematic and refined. First of all, the analysis of the past experiences and lessons are still not thorough; secondly, combined with the specific learning stages is relatively less; thirdly, combined with the specific curriculum contents is relatively less too. Based on the above, this thesis intends on the relationship between Education for International Understanding and the teaching of history, and the situation of Education for International Understanding penetrate in the junior middle school history curriculum contents since the founding of the new China, and how Education for International Understanding to combine with the current curriculum contents of junior middle school history are discussed.In this thesis, the first chapter is the introduction, including the question proposed, the research goal and the significance, the research methods and the existing research results review. The second chapter is the theoretical basis of the thesis, including the basic concepts of Education for International Understanding and its connection with the teaching of history. The third chapter is the review about the situation of penetrating Education for International Understanding in the curriculum contents of junior middle school history from various periods since the founding of the new China, and analyze its gains and losings, experiences and lessons. The fourth chapter is to discuss the way of Education for International Understanding integrate with the current curriculum contents of junior middle school history, but also the core of this thesis. Including what curriculum contents is to penetrate the Education for International Understanding, and can use what way to integrate these curriculum contents, as well as the integration needs which should be careful etc.. The ending part comes to some understanding and prospect of the author of the thesis.
