With the continuing development of our national vocational education, boosting the professional development of vocational teachers has become the key of promoting vocational education. Therefore, Ministry of Education has implemented "The Plan for Improving the Quality of Teachers in Vocational Schools". This research, as a part of Ministry of Education of "The Cultivating Standards, Plans, and the Development of Key Courses and the Development of Special Courses of network engineering professional vocational education teacher undergraduate" undertaken by Fujian Normal University, aims at studying the professional standards of the network engineering teachers in the secondary vocational schools. Furthermore, the standards can be used to measure and evaluate the levels of the imparting knowledge and educating people for these teachers.Using follows research methods:document analysis, questionnaire survey, field trip, Internet interview, etc. This research makes an intensive study for the standards of the vocational education and vocational teachers of home and abroad, the development and demands for talents of computer network technology and the current professional teaching situation of the computer network technology in secondary vocational schools. Based on " The Professional Standards of the Secondary Vocational School (on trial)", combining the features of the major of the computer network technology of the secondary vocational schools, this thesis defines the standards of the professional teachers as three capability dimensions, that is professional principles and teachers’ethics, professional abilities and professional development. The standards include eleven capability domains and twenty eight capability units. The requirement of every capability unit is transferred into capability standard item in the standards. And we do investigation to the secondary vocational front-line teachers by questionnaire survey. Using mathematical statistics method and excel software, we analyze the feedback data and convene a "Professional standard Seminar" to correct the result of the analysis and break the capability standard items into three levels, that is entry, promotion, and becoming the backbone. Finally, we come up with the professional standards of computer network technology teachers in the secondary vocational schools.
