In recent years, with the rapid development of the Internet, Internet has a profound impact on all aspects of people’s lives, especially on college students. Internet has become an access to get resource, publish opinion, exchange of feelings for university students, not only on the ideas it has a huge impact on the students, but also affects their behavior, it also has a huge impact on thought patriotism of Students. Faced with the new changes of patriotic education in network times, the university should change the philosophy of education, innovative teaching methods, strengthen patriotic education of college students. This paper mainly discusses the opportunities and challenges which network brings to the Students’Patriotism Education, in order to propose appropriate measures to achieve the university in the network era patriotic education more effective swing.Patriotism is a spiritual pillar and spiritual wealth, it plays an important role in the development of the Chinese nation. Patriotic education is the core of ideological and political education. Universities, especially thinking workers should strengthen ideological and political education of college students’patriotic education, stimulate their patriotic enthusiasm and help them establish a correct concept of patriotism, to improve their ideological and moral qualities and make they become useful community and serve the motherland.Firstly, under the network age students’patriotism education for the interpretation, first expounded the meaning of patriotism, patriotic education specific meaning for students; Second, a detailed analysis about the connotation and characteristics of the network under the network era. Third, elaboration in favor of the Internet age college students patriotic education theory, mainly "gatekeeper" theory of new media age,"agenda-setting" theory and Bourdieu’s habitus, field theory. As the network information dissemination with a virtual, interactive, autonomy, sharing, diversity and other characteristics, the living environment has the opportunities and challenges of the Internet age coexist, enthusiasm and negativity symbiosis. Therefore, basing on the characteristics of Internet, this article discusses patriotism opportunities and challenges of college students’patriotic education in the second part. One hand, the network broadens the access to college education in patriotism information channels; Network enhances the of subjectivity Students’Patriotism Education; network enhances the effectiveness of Students’Patriotism Education; on the other hand, network dilutes national sovereignty consciousness; network impacts socialist ideology; network media network cultures bring challenges to patriotic education. Finally, opportunities and challenges which in network era patriotic education faces, this paper uses the method of combining theory and practice to explore effective ways of achieve patriotic education in the network era, especially in these countermeasures,we use relevant theory discussed earlier. First, expanding college education in patriotism content, improving the quality of college students; second, creating a good network environment and creating a platform for patriotic education college.
