Yan Yangchu and Liang Shuming are not only famous rural educations and practitioners in the modern history of China, but also renowned in the world. As a patriotic intellectual, the nation were in crisis, they seeking the way out for China,to explored the same way of the rural education. They think that China’s state by agriculture, the rural population accounted for about 80 percent, in order to saved the domestically society, we should start from the country, through the means of the educations to reconstruction the country, it’s the key to save the nation.Yan Yangchu’s dingxian experiment and Liang Shuming’s zouping experiment were outstanding representatives of rural education in a special historical period, their rural education thought has a great influence on rural education in China.Yan Yangchu was a scholar who studied in the USA, deeply edified by Confucianism, whose political ideology of “regarding the people as a nation’s base”, and accepted the Christian baptism, had the thoughts of people-basis theory. Liang Shuming devotes all his lifetime to the study of the China traditional culture and the Confucianism thoughts, known as the “the modern new Confucianist”. He based on the traditional culture to seek the Chinese nation’s self-saving path. Due to the different personal beliefs and education experience, etc, makes the different characteristics in the thoughts, not quite the same. Yan Yangchu boils down the problem of China’s are four major categories: ignorance, poverty, cowardly, selfish. In order to solve those questions, he put forward the art education to solve ignorance, livelihood education to solve poverty, health education to solve cowardly, citizen education to solve selfish. He think only suit the remedy to the case, cultivate the modern citizens of knowledge, productivity, strong forces and solidarity four forces, realizing national reconstruction. Liang Shuming, from the perspective of the culture to solve China’s problems, He thinks that the essence of the China problem is a serious disorder of culture, Therefore, actively create a new culture is the key. Liang Shuming, which is based on the traditional culture to think the China’s problem, such practice under the rural education advocates, for today’s rural reconstruction in rural areas still has its important reference significance. Although they through different ways, but all hope that through the education to transform rural’s political, economic, cultural and other aspects, so as to realize the revival of the countryside, finally realize the revival of the Chinese nation. This paper applies the method of comparison, trying to reveal and analysize the similarity and difference of rural education movement. they pushed rural education practice activity, at that time received a great attention, education activities carried out in full swing, some achievements were obtained, has a good effect to the rural education and construction activities, also provided the comparison and reference for today’s rural education.Now, the rural problem is the key to restricting the social development of our country, To realize the balanced development of the society, vigorously develop rural education still is the key. excavate intrinsic value of Yan Yangchu, Liang Shuming’s rural education thought, to explore the enlightenment to today’s rural society problems, in order to provide reference and some thinking for the current rural education reform.
