In the20thentry, China was witnessing risks at home and abroad, which have hinderedits development and progress. However, Chinese people knew that only the independence andprosperity of China could help Chinese people get rid of foreign bullying and oppression andbe the masters of their own country, which has been the urgent historical mission. Therefore,patriots of different places raised the movements of saving China from subjugations. As arepresentative, Liang Shuming speculated on the problem of China’s social reform. LiangShuming realized the nature of China’s society, and according to him, people from rural areastake up80%of Chinese overall population and he concludes that the prosperity of China isdependent on the development of rural areas. Thus, Liang Shuming proposed the ruraleducation theory, which has aroused the rural construction movement. The whole article isanalyzed and described from the perspective of the background, content, influence andenlightenment of Liang Shuming’s Rural Education Theory.The first part of the particle talked about Liang Shuming’s Rural Education Theory, and itconcludes three aspects. Firstly, the background of Liang Shuming’s Rural Education Theory;Secondly, the guiding ideology Liang Shuming’s Rural Education Theory; Lastly, the specificcontent of Liang Shuming’s Rural Education Theory.The second part talked about the practice process of Liang Shuming’s Rural EducationTheory, which has elaborated on the formation and perfection of his theory. Specifically, itincludes Cao Zhou School, Guangzhou No.1Middle School education reformation, ZouPing’s rural construction experiment, and the establishment of Henan College and Zoupingvillage rural constructional experiment in Shandong.The third part talked about the significance and the limitations of Liang Shuming’s RuralEducation Theory and practice, which put emphasis on its enlightenment on China’s new ruraleducation. Furthermore, some personal suggestions were provided with regard to theproblems of China’s rural education.
