| Interpersonal relationship of college students is not only a vital part of college life but a fatal factor that may harm students’ mental health if it is not developed properly. Based on the viewpoint of social work research, the author summarizes that the current college students have some serious problems in interpersonal aspects such as being self-centered, feeling difficult to interact normally with strangers ,lacking interpersonal skills, let alone handling interpersonal conflicts. Moreover, it is getting serious that failure in interpersonal relationship hurts college students’ mental health and causes a couple of mental disorders, like depression, thinking extremely, even committing crime. Therefore, from the perspectives of theory and reality, it is necessary for us to strengthen our study in this area and do intervention to help college students develop healthy personality.This empirical study is based on rational emotive behavior therapy, taking G group of H college students as a case study and applies rational emotive behavior therapy to interpersonal relationship group of college students,achieving the organic combination of both methods and working techniques to help members improve their cognitive, personal emotional management and interpersonal skills. And through assessment and reflection on G group, I come up with some suggestions about how to apply rational emotive behavior therapy better to this group ,including in particular to insist on applying rational-emotive behavior therapy to group work and casework at the same time, true to localization using rational emotive behavior therapy, combine rational education with life education, raise the level of crew rational emotion regulation, enhance team effectiveness training.The study shows that college students interpersonal group activities designed from rational emotive behavior therapy is a useful exploration to college students interpersonal group model, it can effectively solve problems and obstacles existed in students’ interpersonal communication, help college students get the correct rational cognition; help promote positive interaction between college students’ interpersonal relationships, and help build mental health of college students. |
