Chemistry as the study of natural science of matter and its variation law, since it produce, formation, is developed on the basis of the chemical experiment. Until now, about the nature of chemical system structure and the change rule, still mainly rely on chemical experiment research. Chemistry experiment is an important part of chemistry teaching, and plays an important role in the teaching material. In the part of teaching suggestions, the high school chemistry new curriculum standard pointed out:Highlight the chemistry discipline characteristic, play a better experimental education function. Based on the experiment is one of the important characteristics of chemistry discipline. Chemistry experiment plays a very important role in improving students’ scientific literacy. Chemistry experiment is helpful to stimulate students’ interest in learning chemistry, create a lively teaching situation, to help students understand and grasp the chemical knowledge and skills, inspire the students’ scientific thinking, training students scientific method, cultivate the students’ scientific attitude and values.Chemistry experiment teaching is an important part of chemistry teaching, with the new curriculum reform, the role of chemical experiment in chemistry teaching is more and more prominent. However, due to the influence of examination-oriented education and other factors, society, schools, teachers and students lack of understanding of the role of chemical experiment, too much out of the examination results and ignore the experimental operation, "Pay attention to theory, Despise experiment", "Pay attention to results, Despise process", these phenomena also relatively common in chemical experiment teaching in high school, make the experiment become a mere formality, the experimental and theory cannot be combined.This paper first introduces the characteristics and functions of the new curriculum of chemistry experiment, then make the rural high school in Hubei province as an example, through literature review, questionnaire, interviews and other methods to investigate the current situation of chemistry experiment teaching. Through the analysis of the results of the survey found that many problems in chemical experiment teaching. This paper has carried on the analysis from the social, school, teachers and students of these four aspects. The social aspects of assessment system is not scientific enough, experiments evaluation are still stay in the written examination this unique form; The school laboratory management is not scientific, lack of chemistry class, evaluation system for teachers and students is not scientific, the teaching idea and teaching behavior do not match, the exploratory experiment teaching become a mere formality, do not have a correct understanding of the importance of chemistry experiment, lack of enthusiasm and initiative in the process of teaching, be satisfied with the existing state of affairs and reluctant to move forward, lack of continuous learning and innovation spirit, the experimental evaluation of the students is too single; The problem of the students are experimental attitude and ability, attitude is not serious about the chemistry experiment, The chemical experiment ability is poor, lack of ability to design experiments and experimental inquiry ability.Based on these problems, this article from the society, schools, teachers and students put forward targeted improvement strategy. Hope that these strategies can provide reference for chemistry experiment teaching in rural areas. To further promote the reform of Chemistry Experiment Teaching, improve the quality of experiment teaching.
