Carrying on the experiment cannotonly train students’ ability in practice but also exercise their observation ability, thinkingability and the ability to analyze. Students can also develop more enthusiasm and innovationin learning. As the saying goes,“interest is the best teacher.â€Ever since the new curriculum, as can be seen from the changes of chemistry experiment,great changes have taken place in the teaching philosophy, curriculum objectives, content,structure and learning methods. The objectives can have a good effect on the teachers andstudents through these changes.Qingdao,as a pilot reform city, in more than10years of curriculum reform, achieveda lot. Yet there are still some problems. Then what are the achievements obtained and what arethe problems in the field of Chemistry Experiment Teaching in senior high schools? Withthese doubts, the author decided to do a comprehensive investigation and study.Through the comparison between the old and new versions of textbooks, teachers beginto realize the importance of chemical experiments. However, although the content of chemicalexperiments in the new curriculum increased, the proportion of experiments in the wholeteaching content also increased, in the face of this change, I puzzled about a series ofproblems: Teachers really follow the reform? Now in the classroom teaching, especially inchemical experiment teaching, the teachers really deepen the reform?Can it achieve a lot?What problems are encountered in the experimental teaching reform? How do teachers treatthe experimental teaching?With these questions, I walked into several high schools inQingdao city. Through interviews, questionnaire survey, I make a research on the teachingsituation of chemical experiments in Qingdao. Take my school in Qingdao for example,through years of study, I understand the implementation situation of the experimental teachingin the curriculum reform by assisting the class, observation, interview, etc. And I gainvaluable first-hand information through giving classes.The following problems arise in the process of implementation of the experimentalteaching of some high schools in Qingdao City: the main difficulties in high school chemicalexperiment teaching is class time, experimental equipment and other equipped resources.Through questionnaires and interviews with teachers, the major problem is that for lack ofclass, students do less experiment than before. What’s worse, the lack of class accounts for theexplorative experiment, which is advocated by the curriculum reform besides the laboratoryequipment. Many teachers put forward that the new laboratory chemistry classroom should be built for the purpose of doing experiment in teaching. The third factor is that, so far,1/3ofthe schools in Qingdao city are lacking in experiment resources.(2) The schools do notestablish experimental teaching evaluation system. The experimental teaching are hard tocarry out for lack of supervision mechanism.(3) The integration of the experimentalteaching and information technology is far from satisfying.. Due to the limited conditions,some experiment can’t be demonstrated in the classroom such as the security issues, orexperimental phenomena in classroom which is not easy to observe. In that case, teacherscan combine the experiment and information technology.(4)The teacher does not have thecorrect understanding of the experimental teaching. Some teachers’ professional developmentlevels need to be improvedAs teachers who do the practical teaching, we should have right attitude to teaching.Attitudes matter a lot. If a Chemistry teacher can’t recognize the importance of the experiment,there will be bad effects on the teaching of chemical experiment. |
