In China, with the advancement of basic education curriculum reform, the school integrated curriculum emerged in order to better promote the integrated development of primary students. Curriculum standards of Morality and Society(trial version) were issued by the Ministry of Education in 2001, and integrated school curriculum materials Morality and Society were published by a number of publishers for the second year. Our elementary school geography would no longer appear in the form of an independent discipline since then, but it was taught with the politics, history, ethics and other disciplines of knowledge integrated into the Morality and Society. This dramatic change led many teachers to become passive and flawless, there are many issues worthy of our study in the context of integrated curriculum,such as how to change teaching ideas, how to effectively promote elementary knowledge of geography teaching.Because Morality and Society is an integrated curriculum, the writer collects and summarizes literatures in the introduction to draw the current status and deficiency of this research and highlights the significance value of this research. Then, on the basis of concepts of integrated curriculum and geography teaching, the writer summarizes the supporting theories:integrated curriculum theory, the theory of geography, contemporary teaching theory,and designs research ideas and methods. In the analyzing problem part, the writer draws the main problems in geography teaching combining with teaching examples in classroom observation. In analyzing reasons part, the writer taps the main problems existing in the teaching and attribution analysis through the interpretation of the current status and the results of the questionnaire. In the reform strategy part, aimed at the existing problems and attribution analysis, the writer integrates specific strategies for every problem,describes and applies these strategies with geography knowledge in Morality and Society.
