This paper carries out empirical investigation over current situation of compulsory students to urban-rural understanding education in the urbanization process, preliminary discovering problems of urban-rural understanding of compulsory students. The paper attempts to analyze influential factors of compulsory students understanding education in urban and rural areas from sociology, philosophy, psychology, education, and other aspects and also raises educational countermeasures.The first part states the theoretical basis of urban-rural understanding, including social integration theory, social identity theory, ontology, theory of otherness to provide theoretical support for the thesis.The second part makes questionnaires towards the teachers and students, showing cognition, emotion, attitude and behavior to urban-rural understanding education of compulsory period students. It also touches upon prejudice, discrimination, alienation, apathy and other resulting damages to the sudents and also to the society.The third part analyzes the causes of urban-rural incomprehension to the compulsory students from institutional, cultural and educational aspects. The study suggests that urban center orientation policies impact and cause unbalanced development between urban and rural, and gradually expand the contradictions between urban and rural areas. There are objective differences between urban and rural areas in the language, habits, ideas, etc. This kind of difference leads to the two kinds of civilizations express their views and disagree with each other. Utilitarian orientation of school education is to ignore the problem of understanding between rural and urban students.The fourth part, mainly proposes solution measures from four aspects including policy system, school, social and family. The society, school and family should pay attention to understanding education between urban-rural students, and work together to create a respectful, inclusive education environment, including the equal respect for the diversity of the compuisory school environment and community culture, so that the urban-rural students are able to communicate and cooperate with each other in education activities. That can eliminate errors in cognition and emotion between urban-rural students, so as to achieve mutual understanding.
