Along with the reform and development of education, people attach more and more atten tion to mathematical thinking and methods. In order to enhance penetration of students’ math ematics thinking methods, we create the new content "mathematics wide-angle" in primary sc hool mathematics textbooks of 2001 PEP(experimental) version. The content was revised in the textbooks of 2012 PEP(Amendment) version, showing the important status of mathemati cs thinking and methods. This paper is based on the modern education theory and the concept of the new curriculum and mainly studies the development of mathematical thinking and met hods penetrated in "mathematics wide-angle" in the second school section(grade 4-6). The stu dy is divided into three parts:In the first part, we carry out questionnaire survey and interview on teachers in-service of this area about the three dimensions as follows: the understanding degree of mathematical thi nking and methods, the mastering degree of teaching objectives and application degree of tea ching strategies. The survey results show that teachers generally are short of understanding a bout the content of mathematical thinking and methods, and lack of penetration about teachin g strategy of mathematical thinking and methods in “mathematics wide-angle”.In the second part,we study systematically and arrange the contents of "mathematics wid e-angle" in the second school section. We arrange the teaching contents relating the importan t mathematics thinking of optimization ideas, model ideas, domestication ideas, combination of number and form. And then analyze it in great detail. In the third part, we make a case analysis around the excellent lesson "Number and Form", getting the following five teaching strategies penetrating mathematical thinking and metho ds:(1)Definite the teaching objective mainly penetrating mathematical thought and methods;(2)The auger-type classroom teaching design;(3)The teaching strategies making "hidden" to "significant";(4)Pay more attention to penetrating mathematics thinking and methods in problem solving;(5) Pay more attention to penetrating mathematics thinking methods in the summary.
