As the rapid development in science and technology today, information technology is changing world around us at a growing rate we can not estimate, which have a profound impact on our education system, and the education reform supported by information technology is in full swing. Flipped classroom teaching model emerges in this social background, on the one hand, it injects fresh blood to educational system, on the other hand it makes our education system face enormous challenges. The questions of how to flip the classroom and what specific effects will flipped classroom bring and so on are what we need to study.Firstly, this article describes the origin and development of flipped classroom through literature research, it reveals its process of development and enrichment of connotation. And then analyse of the research status of flipped classroom that includes two spects of practice research status and theoretical research status, also summarizes the characteristics and defects of domestic and international research, then proposed the development trend of research.Secondly, this piece explains the different concepts of flipped classroom and summarizes the concept of flipped classroom teaching model on the basis of domestic and foreign scholars study combined with the author’s comprehension:Flipped classroom teaching model is based on modern educational ideas and theories for the training of students’ comprehensive ability to achieve student-centered differentiated teaching, micro lessons before class provides video and other teaching resources for students to complete the study of knowledge by means of modern technology, and teachers and students exchange the interaction with each other in the classroom, inquiry-based learning is completed within the knowledge of a teaching model. The study also raised the theoretical basis for the research are geography teaching theory, constructivist learning theory, mastery learning theory and humanistic learning theory, teacher-student interaction theory and the theory of education informatization.Thirdly, through the analysis of curriculum property, curriculum idea, curriculum goal and curriculum content of senior high school geography curriculum, also the basic structural elements and characteristics of flipped classroom teaching model, theoretically verified flipped classroom teaching application feasibility and applicability of senior high school geography teaching.Fourthly, comparing and analysing the characteristics of flipped classroom teaching model built by domestic and overseas scholars, the author combines elements related to senior high school geography teaching activities with modern educational theory, then construct the flipped classroom teaching model of geography in senior high school with clear process and certain operability. Specific processes and teaching activities will be explained with theoretical reference to senior high school geography teacher.Finally, according to the constructed flipped classroom teaching model of geography in senior high school, the author makes teaching design and put it into practice then validated the feasibility of teaching model. Implementation of the teaching model is not just related to teachers and students, but also to the education system of social education, school education and family education, to promote the teaching of fundamental reforms.
