The implementation of Chinese new course standards in compulsory education period has put forward higher requirements on the reading course of middle school and primary school Chinese from the quality and quantity. The traditional Chinese reading class mode, however, mainly focuses on the anthologized teaching of one text after another, which cannot satisfy the requirements of new curriculum standards and needs reforming no matter from the reading quantity or teaching effects. Under this background, a group article reading teaching, with its advantages of large reading quantities and big class volumes and the characteristic of emphasizing the independent extracurricular reading ability of students, has caused the attention of numerous Chinese educators.Facing this newly emerging thing, numerous experts and scholars have devoted themselves and started studying on the improvement. This research takes certain teaching ideas and theories as the guidance and attempts to establish three types of a group article reading teaching modes to implement different teaching targets. This paper consists of four parts.The first part mainly introduces the meaning of this concept of a group article reading, the production of this teaching idea and current developing situations. The concept of a group article readingis initiatively put forward by Taiwanese Professor Zhao Jingzhong. This reading teaching method, connects curricular and extra-curricular reading and develops the connecting critical function. The proposal of the teaching idea of a group article reading has caused the attention and research by numerous Chinese educational workers. However, the recognition on the principles, characteristics and specific effects of a group article reading at the current stage remains unclear. The purpose of this research is to emphasize on establishing a group article reading teaching modes to realize different teaching goals.The second part mainly introduces the evidence, research methods and significance of a group article reading teaching mode construction. The implementation of specific teaching targets is the core factor of determining a group article reading class teaching mode, and certain teaching ideas or theories are the guidance of determining a group article reading class teaching mode. These two factors announce the necessities and reasons of three different a group article reading modes. This research attempts to explore some normal forms for imitation by the class teaching of a group article reading, combine teaching theories and teaching practice together and form a bridge communicating the both, which is also the significance of this research.The third part is the most dominated content in this research. In accordance with different teaching targets, this part establishes three different a group article reading class teaching modes and make the more specific explanation on these three modes from theoretical evidence, operating procedure and implementation conditions.The first is the learning-guided a group article reading class teaching mode of "one preposition, two assessments and three links" with the emphasis placed on knowledge and skill targets. This mode regards the student development oriented modern teaching theory, meaningful learning theory by Ausubel and timely feedback principles in control theory as theoretical evidence and "one preposition", "two assessments" and "three links" as the forming elements of this mode. "One preposition" means that the class teaching contents should be put in front, "two assessments" means discussing the teaching by students, teacher and student evaluates each other, and "three links" point to three links of class structure in this mode.Besides, it builds the "four actions" a group article reading class teaching mode emphasizing on the process and method targets. This mode takes cognitive psychology as its theoretical evidence and "four actions" in the teaching process as the composing elements of the mode. The specific meanings of four actions" refer to "teachers use hands", "students use months", "teachers and students use brain" and "students use pens", which focuses on "action", or the practice.At last, it also establishes the emotional transfer a group article reading class teaching mode emphasizing on emotional attitudes and values targets. This mode regards humanist psychology and activity course theory as its theoretical basis, takes "creating inducing contexts", "stimulating corresponding emotions" and "cultivating the sentiments of students" as the class main structure and finally reaches the purpose of "implementing emotional transfer".For these three different teaching modes, it finally illustrates some operating applications practically with some examples.The four part illustrates the differences between the a group article reading teaching mode established in the third part and the traditional reading teaching mode. The differences between the both are mainly shown in four aspects of teaching guiding ideas, functional targets of teaching missions, teaching content organization and teaching program design. In the end, with the methods of educational experiments, it compares the differences between a group article reading teaching mode established in this research and the actual effects of traditional reading teaching mode.Practice proves that the group article reading teaching mode established in this article owns certain advantages compared to the traditional Chinese reading teaching mode, which makes the more obvious function on the improvement of students’ reading abilities. |
