Personalized teaching is a kind of teaching activities that teacher use personalized teaching to meet students’ personalized learning, and also promote the healthy development of every student’s personality. Senior high school stage is the key period for teenagers to shape their characteristics. School education plays an important role in accelerating, leading and making direction of teenagers’ personality developments. Using personalized teaching in senior high school is conducive to the cultivation of student’s uniqueness and creativity. However, there are certain difficulties to carry out individualized teaching successfully in the Process of senior high school English teaching. This thesis carries out a systematic and scientific research on the current situation of senior high school English individualized teaching. It tries to find out the relevant factors influencing the current English individualization and puts forward the corresponding suggestions and strategies. It provides certain theoretical reference to carry out the individualization of senior high school English teaching so as to improve teaching effects further.This thesis first analyzes background of this study, the research purpose and meaning, the literature review, the research idea and methods, the difficult point and the innovation places. And then analyzes the theory of individualized teaching. The theoretical basis of this thesis is the Humanistic teaching theory, the theory of Multiple intelligence, and the Programmed instruction theory. It explains the connotation and features of senior high school English individualized teaching. This thesis adopts literature review, questionnaire survey and interview research methods to analyze the current situation of senior high school English individualized teaching. Through the survey data found that there are still some problems in senior high school English personalized teaching, such as the teaching method is lack of the cultivation of students’ autonomous learning ability, teaching content is difficult to meet the demand of different students’ individual character development, teaching process ignore the individual difference of middle school students’ English learning. The causes of these problems lies in the teachers’ teaching idea lags behind, only one way to make teaching evaluation, teachers’ individualized teaching style has not been formed, teachers’ professional knowledge level and professional ability is not high, and the influence of entrance examination system.Through further analysis, this thesis puts forward some countermeasures to promote personalized senior high school English teaching, such as changing teaching idea, creating a personalized teaching style, establishing personalized teaching goal, teaching organization form, implementing personalized teaching evaluation, improving teachers’ knowledge level and professional ability, and reforming English exam system. This strategies can provide some available values for senior high school English teaching much more better in respecting students’ individual differences, as well as teaching students according to their different characteristics and aptitudes.
