With the continuous development of higher education, university teaching quality has attracted more and more attention. At the same time, college teacher training has been a significant part of educational reform. Under the background of network and information technology, online training has become an important selection for teacher training of higher education institutions with its convenience, flexibility, rich resources and other advantages. Approved by the Ministry of Education, "Higher Education Institutions Teacher on Line Training Center" ("on Line Training Center") is a new training system based on the network and information technology and very popular. However, some problems, affecting the effectiveness of online training of college teachers, have also been exposed when online training is developing in full swing. It is imperative to strengthen research of online training about college teachers.The goal of online training is enhancing teachers’professional quality, which must be promoted with the purpose of guaranteeing the effectiveness of online training. Taking the characteristics of online training into account, some attentions have been paid to the process and the results in this study. Evaluation criteria of the effectiveness of online training about teachers in college have been proposed upon the combination of structural theory about teacher professional quality and the particularity of online training. What’s more, choosing teachers of Guangxi GW university attending "on Line Training Center" activity as the main respondents, this study aims at understanding the current situation of online training, finding out the problems about the effectiveness of training, analyzing the reason and putting forward the available recommendations for the improvement of the online training:1. To strengthen the participating consciousness of teachers involved in training and promote their self-learning abilities.2. To exert the guiding role of school as for strengthening institutional support.3. To enhance the platform service quality of the "on Line Training Center".
