Teacher training is a key method for teacher's professional development.At present,China attaches great importance to teacher training program,introducing a series of policies related to teacher training and investing a large amount of funds to support teacher training.These are aiming to build a stronger teacher team in China to improve the education to a higher level.In 2010,the national education department officially introduced The National Training Plan for National Teachers of Primary and Secondary Schools,which is an important step for teacher training.With the spread of the work in the whole country,it is essential to examine the effectiveness of the teacher training program at this stage.This study was conducted in the context of the "National Training Plan"initiated by the Ministry of Education.After reviewing the relevant information of this program,the study focuses on the subprogram of "Sample Comprehensive Reform Project",take the two classes of the project as the survey objects,using literature review,questionnaire survey and interview survey to investigate the teachers who delivered the training program as well as the teachers who received the training program.The whole investigation covers three aspects,including the achievement of the training,the degree of satisfaction of the training program contents,and the completion of the tasks in each training phase.This investigation helps examine the effectiveness of the teacher training program.In the study,the researchers acted as the assistants of the class teacher and participated in the training program.The program had fifteen-day face-to-face training courses and last for three years.Having the long-term relationships with the participating teachers,the researchers gained the information of the training status and training achievement.Having the direct contact with the training institutions,the researchers collected a large number of relevant research data,including training requirements,training plans,course arrangement and the data related to online training.The researchers based on all of the collected information and then conducted the questionnaire survey about the training effects.This essay follows the processes of "discovering the problem—analyzing the cause ? making a recommendation" to provide the understanding to the training program plans and its implementation of the "National Training Plan—Sample Comprehensive Reform Project".It is believed to improve the national training teacher training program system in China and facilitate the professional development of teachers as well as the development of education.The specific content of research is divided into seven parts:It will first introduce the research background and significance,followed by the research objectives and content.It will also introduce the ideas and methods in this research,and also cover the national and international research status.The second part mainly introduces the core concepts and the related theoretical basis of this research.The third part introduces the general situation of the“National Training Plan—Sample Comprehensive Reform Project".This includes the current development of the project;the conducted investigations on the needs of the participating teachers in the early stage,and the specific contents of the training program.The fourth part investigates the effectiveness of the training program.This includes the preparations for the preliminary investigation,such as the identification of survey objects and contents,design and inspection survey tools;the implementation process of surveys;the survey results.The whole investigation covers three aspects,including the achievement of the training,the degree of satisfaction of the training program contents,and the completion of the tasks in each training phase.It will then identify the problems in the training based on the survey results.The fifth part analyzes the problems and deficiencies in training.This might due to the lack of attention of the grass-roots departments,the incomplete demand research,the unsound training team,and the inadequate training methods.Based on the above problems and deficiencies,the sixth part provides the training institutions with some strategies and suggestions for improving their teacher training programs.There are four aspects that could be improved,which are strengthening training support from the grass-roots departments;conducting in-depth researches and exploring the demand of training contents;rationally selecting experts and forming the trainer teams;applying flexible and multiple training methods.The seventh part is the summary and reflection of this research,including the research conclusions,the innovations and deficiencies of the research and the outlook of the research.
