Research On Guangxi Colleges And Local Culture

College is a special education institutions in ancient China.It appeared in the early years of the Tang Dynasty, developed in Song Yuan Ming Qing Dynasties, and was abolished with the abolition of the imperial examination system in the late Qing Dynasty.Therefore, with rich college activities such as teaching,collecting books,writing books, ritual activities and the freedom of spirit,college system existed for more than one thousand and two hundred years in China.Colleges attracted a lot of famous scholars to give lectures and thousands of students to study here,which made it one of the most important academic agencies after Tang Dynasty.Totally 363 colleges were found in Guangxi province in history,which first appeared in the Southern Song Shaoxing Dynasty and abolished in the last years of Emperor GuangXu.The development history of Guangxi roughly matched the national colleges,but some characteristics still need to notice.There were some studies about colleges of Guangxi,but there are still some problems.For example,the statistical data is not precise enough,and a systematic study about the history is still in a lack.Besides, there are quite a few previous researches about the space-time distribution while the inner characteristics of these colleges get little attention, such as officialization,different levels,hybridity of culture,etc.Neo-confucianism is a product of Confucian academict in the Song Dynasty,there was oneness between the rise of the colleges and Neo-confucianism. With the hope of being the saints and the oracles,Guangxi colleges deeply influence the value orientation of the scholar of Guangxi.Besides,as the centre of academy,these colleges deeply influence the collecting books,inscribing books, academic structure of GuangXi,however,the studies are scattered or even never discussed.Therefore,a systematic study about the relationship between the Guangxi colleges and Guangxi academy is still in need.The development of Guangxi colleges is very unbalanced,and the difference divide the Guangxi into four parts,the northern Guangxi,the eastern Guangxi,the southern Guangxi and the western Guangxi,which have a close link between the its cultural regions.Therefore,this paper will have a study about the relationship between academies and cultural regions.
