The university stage is a transitional period of the youth value concept and behaviors towards mature. In addition, it’s an important socialization stage where they constantly learn and adapt to the society. The ideological and political education assists college students to establish a correct concept of value and to realize personal and social value. However, in present, the open international and domestic environment with the developed internet leads to the intermingling and collisions of multiple thoughts, which continuously erode some college students’ unsteady values and weaken their identification. Contemporary college students’ identification level directly affects the degree to achieve the goal of ideological and political education. College students’ identification level of the ideological and political education is the key point to the effectiveness of it. How is the current situation of identification of contemporary college students? What reasons on earth have impacted the improvement of the college students’ identification? How should we improve students’ identification and make the ideological and political education deeply rooted in the hearts of them so that it can be truly recognized and firmly practice it? This article is trying to explore the above problems on the basis of absorbing predecessors’ research results.This article consists of four parts. The first will construct basic theories of the identification of ideological and political education, clarifying the connotation, constituent elements and the formation mechanism and analyze the value of promoting college students’ identification of ideological and political education. In part two, it’ll learn about the reality of contemporary college students’ identification through questionnaire inquiry from five aspects: the overall identification status, rational cognition status, emotional identification status, value orientation status and practice consolidation status. In part three, it’ll analyze the elements that affect contemporary college students’ identification of ideological and political education from various aspects, such as social environment, college students, the ideological and political educators and the content and methods of ideological and political education. The final part will positively explore the strategies to enhance college students’ identification of ideological and political education from five aspects: college students, educators, education content, educational method and education environment.
