| Ever since the new urbanization strategy was proposed in the 18th china’s people’s representatives congress, as the symbol of modernization, the population urbanization has attracted country-wide attentions. The household registration system, plays crucial role in the process of population urbanization, has experienced long evolution process which includes three major steps:establish, strengthen and reform. As the household registration system’s contents expanded and its function alienated continuously, it became an important institutional factor that restrained the rural-urban population migration. Undoubtedly, as an important institutional obstacle of urbanization, it is necessary and urgent to push the household registration system reformation. So far, there are multiple insufficient regional household registration reformation cases, however the reformation outcomes are too few to mention, some of the regional cases are even headed to the wrong way. Chengdu has launched unified household reformation since 2003, many scholars praise it as the most radical case in this field, thus obtained nation-wide attentions.This paper mainly studies Chengdu’s unified household registration reformation from the angle of population urbanization. firstly it presents the developing process of bilateral household registration system, then analyzes its malpractice to draw out the study of chengdu’s unified household registration reformation. This paper discovers that the chengdu’s unified household registration reformation included reducing entry threshold and conducting related systems reformation. Generally speaking, chengdu’s unified household registration has restored its original function in a large content, But it has not yet finished its key policies, such as the threshold setting and the related system reformation, thus requires constantly improvement to ensure the sustainable development of population urbanization. |
